In a message marking the International Maritime Day, he highlighted the importance
of maintaining stability and protecting the interests of regional states, especially given the strategic significance of the Strait of Hormuz on both regional and global levels. He explained that the sea is more than just a body of water for Iran;
it is an integral part of the country's history and identity, as well as a vital source of energy and resources that the nation relies on in both the present and future. He pointed out that expanding marine studies, advancing
modern technologies, enhancing maritime safety standards, utilizing marine energy resources, and protecting marine ecosystems represent a crucial investment in the future of coming generations. Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Bezhikian stressed its strategic importance for regional and global security and economy,
emphasizing the need to adopt a responsible vision focused on safeguarding regional stability and interests. He stated that sustainable security in the Gulf and its maritime routes can only be achieved through the cooperation and responsibility of regional countries. He also
praised Iran's active presence in the waters over the past year, considering this presence a reflection of the significant efforts made by Iranian sailors to ensure the continuous operation of the country's vital maritime passages.
