The Border Crossings Authority confirmed unprecedented financial revenues exceeding 500 billion Iraqi dinars in July, a distinguished figure previously unattained. This was stated by the authority's head, Lieutenant General Omar Adnan Al-Waili, who noted that the recent visit by the

Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, to the authority's headquarters significantly supported anti-corruption efforts and supervisory work development. Al-Waili explained the visit covered a comprehensive review of the authority's regulatory operations, its electronic border management system, and inspection procedures via

the networked sonar system. It also included direct observation of airport and port operations, alongside auditing transactions and cargo trucks. During the visit, the Prime Minister mandated stricter measures and close coordination with judicial and supervisory bodies to combat corruption and

monitor departments at border crossings. He also prioritized combating drug and medicine smuggling, underscoring its grave threat to Iraqi societal security. Furthermore, the authority head highlighted the review of "Development Road" project plans and activating the cross-border transit system to enhance

Iraq's role as a geographical link between Europe, the Arabian Gulf, and global nations. He added that the authority progressed significantly in governance, electronic automation, and integrating with the ASYCUDA system and commercial attachés for auditing invoices and origin certificates,

preventing manipulation and forgery, in line with the ministerial and government agenda.
