Communications Minister Mustafa Al-Sanad decided to adjust the timing of the Waze navigation application ban, moving the implementation to the end of next December instead of early 2027. He explained in an official statement that this measure comes because the
platform is a well-known application associated with specific entities and is still managed within their scope despite Google's acquisition, in addition to the role of similar software in providing financial support, data, and facilitating field operations, which necessitated directing towards
providing a safer and more reliable alternative, while granting the concerned companies sufficient time to adjust their organizational and technical situations according to the newly established standards.
