New field data revealed that Israeli authorities made integrated field preparations to shoot down a passenger plane belonging to flydubai, against the backdrop of what Tel Aviv described as a suspected hijacking operation last Wednesday. In this context, informed sources
confirmed to the American network CBS News that the political and leadership level in Israel was in a state of high alert that allowed for the option of destroying the plane in the air, regardless of the presence of more
than 150 passengers holding Israeli citizenship among the flight's passengers. The flight, numbered 1073, was cutting its airspace route coming from the city of Dubai towards Tel Aviv, when the situation inside the cockpit worsened following the co-pilot's physical assault
on the main captain of the flight. This was followed by a sharp and sudden descent of the plane by 14,000 feet, with observers' anxiety increasing along with it due to the absence of any response to communication calls by
the crew, which prompted Tel Aviv to mobilize air force fighters, declare a state of emergency, and completely close the airspace. The same sources indicated that those fighters had received orders to breach the airspace of the Hashemite Kingdom of
Jordan in order to monitor and evaluate the field situation of the plane, in the event that it continued to advance towards the occupied territories and reached the pre-determined contact point. The final decision to shoot down the plane would
have been raised exclusively to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense, provided that the hijacking condition was proven and communication channels continued to be cut without receiving any clear demands. However, a subsequent development saved the situation when
the plane adjusted its course towards Saudi airspace, which necessitated recalling the Israeli fighters and canceling their mission. Meanwhile, the pilot succeeded in breaking the isolation of the cockpit and opening its door, which helped the flight crew and a
number of passengers neutralize the attacker and completely control him. During these critical moments, two pilots who happened to be among the plane's passengers volunteered to take over the command duties and guide the plane towards a safe emergency landing
in the Saudi city of Tabuk.
