In an effort to alleviate living pressures on households, Souq Al-Shuyoukh district in Dhi Qar province witnessed the launch of a field initiative aimed at providing essential food supplies to citizens at reduced prices. This local measure came in response
to growing concerns surrounding the rise in the dollar exchange rate, averting its direct adverse repercussions on citizens' purchasing power and price levels across local markets. The step was achieved under the guidance of district commissioner Nabil Al-Moussawi, in joint
coordination with the Directorate of Combating Organized Crime in the province, along with active cooperation from local merchants to secure commodities at affordable rates for all. The initiative primarily focuses on easing economic burdens on low-income families, coinciding with increased
market monitoring efforts to ensure supply stability and safeguard local consumers.
