Najaf's Friday preacher, Sadr al-Din al-Qabbanji, on Friday urged the government to review its stance on US sanctions imposed on Iranian aviation. Al-Qabbanji affirmed that Iraq's compliance with these sanctions does not serve its national interests, explaining during his sermon
that its submission to these "unjust sanctions," particularly as they pertain to Iraq, is incorrect. He stressed the rejection of any external position imposed that "does not serve our people, our interests, or our identity." On international affairs, al-Qabbanji noted the
departure of over 80 countries from the UN General Assembly hall during the speech of Israeli entity head Benjamin Netanyahu. He regarded this as a "demonstration of our victory in global public opinion," emphasizing that the scene proves the "Israeli
entity is an illegitimate existence, but rather a terrorist existence relying on killing and extermination." Al-Qabbanji concluded by stating that UN meetings "achieve nothing," being merely "a platform for delivering words without utility." He pointed out that "even the International Court
that condemned the head of the entity faced US sanctions."
