New York hosted a high-level meeting between Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi and Kenyan President William Samoei and his delegation, on the sidelines of Al-Zaidi's participation in the eighty-first session of the United Nations General Assembly. The meeting concluded with
an official invitation from the Kenyan President for the Prime Minister to visit Kenya, aimed at strengthening joint cooperation between the two nations. During Wednesday's discussions, avenues for developing bilateral relations and expanding cooperation into multiple sectors were explored. Talks focused
on establishing a direct flight route connecting Baghdad and Nairobi to stimulate trade, investment, and tourism exchanges. Discussions also covered enhancing Iraq's presence in the African common market, broadening cooperation with African nations, and advancing diplomatic relations, including considering a
Kenyan embassy in Baghdad. The Prime Minister stressed the vital importance of leveraging Kenya's experience in agriculture and water resource management, and developing economic and investment cooperation. Al-Zaidi noted the potential benefit from Kenya's wide network of partnerships with international markets.
The Kenyan President's invitation reflects their shared desire to develop bilateral relations across various fields, serving the mutual interests of both friendly nations.
