The spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Sabah Al-Noman, confirmed on Sunday that the competent authorities successfully arrested individuals involved in violating the American flag in the capital, Baghdad. He explained in an official statement that this step
came in strict implementation of the directives issued by Commander-in-Chief Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, following actions that accompanied a parade during Sovereignty Day events. He stressed the necessity of holding accountable anyone proven to be involved in this act and taking
all necessary legal measures against them in accordance with applicable Iraqi laws and recognized diplomatic norms. In the same context, the statement pointed out the government's keenness to emphasize that respecting the symbols of friendly countries and accredited diplomatic missions
in the country constitutes a firm legal and diplomatic commitment, stressing that any potential violation or insult in this regard will be directly subject to strict legal accountability.
