The first High Criminal Court in the Turkish city of Yalova sentenced Tugyan Ulkim, the daughter of singer Gullu, to aggravated life imprisonment after convicting her of premeditated murder of her mother. This ruling came during the second session of
the trial, marking a turning point in the case that has preoccupied Turkish public opinion since the singer's death on September 26, 2025, in the Cinarcik area of Yalova, amid mysterious circumstances that raised widespread questions. The judicial panel listened
to the arguments of the parties and discussions of the case file before issuing the verdict, which came in line with the public prosecution's demands to impose the maximum penalty on the accused. During the trial sessions, Gulter denied the
charges against her, affirming her innocence in her mother's death. She recounted that she had her back turned at the moment of the incident and heard a loud noise before discovering her mother's disappearance from the location. She also justified
a previous message sent to her friend stating that her mother was about to commit suicide as merely a joke, denying it as evidence of prior knowledge of the incident. She further denied any connection to a hired killer or
intentionally disabling surveillance cameras in the house, emphasizing that there were no disputes between her and her mother.
