Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi received a renewed invitation from the Saudi leadership to visit the capital, Riyadh. This came during his reception today, Friday, of the President of General Intelligence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Khalid bin Ali
Al-Humaidan, and his accompanying delegation. Al-Humaidan conveyed the official message containing the renewed invitation for Al-Zaidi to visit Riyadh, and both sides discussed ways to enhance coordination and joint cooperation regarding security developments in the region. The Prime Minister affirmed the
Iraqi government's keenness to solidify cooperation relations with the Kingdom, in a manner that serves the common interests of both countries and their brotherly peoples, and contributes to supporting regional security and stability. Al-Zaidi reiterated the government's firm stance on
protecting Iraq's sovereignty and the interests of its people, and not allowing its territory to be used as a launchpad for any actions or activities affecting any other state, based on constitutional responsibilities and adherence to the principles of good
neighborliness and respect for the sovereignty of sisterly and friendly nations. Both sides agreed on the importance of continuing security coordination and information exchange between specialized agencies, which enhances the capacity to deal with any security challenges and contributes to taking
appropriate measures within legal frameworks, thereby serving the security of both countries, strengthening mutual trust, and preventing regional escalation risks.
