Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that his country will not dispatch any military forces to the territory of another state to launch attacks there. During a press conference held in Ankara alongside his Hungarian counterpart, Fidan explained that the
Mecca Defense Alliance is purely defensive rather than offensive, noting that if any member state of the alliance comes under attack, the other nations within the alliance must stand by its side. He stressed that Turkey will not send troops
to another country to carry out combat operations, while confirming that Ankara is examining ways to assist Saudi Arabia in countering Houthi attacks, particularly regarding air defenses. He also announced that all necessary work has been finalized to submit the
Mecca agreement to the Turkish Parliament for ratification. Regarding the war in Ukraine, Fidan warned of the risks of the ongoing crisis expanding between Russia and Ukraine over the past five years and extending into the Black Sea. He added
that the increasing attacks on civilian vessels in the Black Sea have begun to affect navigation security, emphasizing that under no circumstances should the Black Sea be allowed to become a new conflict front. He pointed out that the war
in Ukraine, ongoing for about five years, remains at the forefront of the causes of instability in the region and the world.
