Civil Defense teams, on Friday, extinguished a large fire that erupted inside two buildings, one commercial and one residential, dedicated to furniture trade in Karbala's Al-Hur district. The teams successfully rescued an entire family trapped inside one of the buildings
safely, with no human casualties recorded. The Directorate explained in a statement that the first building consisted of five floors and the second of three. Extinguishing and rescue operations were carried out under the direct supervision of the Director-General of Civil
Defense, Major General Muhsen Kadhim Al-Eleq. The statement added that damages were limited to material losses in the contents of the two buildings. It confirmed the incident site is far from Karbala city center and did not affect pilgrim movement or
general flow.
