Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein chaired an expanded meeting on Monday dedicated to following up and evaluating the progress of preparations and ongoing steps for Iraq to host the proceedings of the 52nd session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of
the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. During the meeting, the Minister emphasized the prominent centrality represented by this event, considering it an important station to introduce visiting delegations to the reality of conditions and developments in the country, noting that assuming
the presidency of this session carries strategic dimensions of utmost importance at regional and international levels and within the framework of member states. For his part, the Undersecretary for Multilateral and Legal Affairs, Ambassador Shorsh Khalid Said, reviewed the totality
of activities and tasks undertaken by the preparatory committee, addressing technical and logistical arrangements and mechanisms for receiving high-level official delegations, while appreciating the launch of the event's electronic platform in conjunction with joint coordination with relevant governmental bodies. The
Undersecretary clarified that efforts culminated, in coordination with political departments and ministry undersecretaries, in preparing the draft "Baghdad Declaration," in addition to completing the introductory guide directed to participating delegations, and fully equipping the media center and the main hall
to host the anticipated activities.
