The Iraqi capital, Baghdad, is preparing to host the 52nd session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, an event the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed will strengthen Iraq's diplomatic presence and reinforce its regional
and international standing. The official spokesperson for the conference, Ambassador Hassanein Kamil, stated in an official announcement that Baghdad is hosting this Islamic gathering 45 years after holding the 1981 session. Kamil explained that the upcoming meeting will serve as
an effective diplomatic platform to ease tensions, bridge divergent viewpoints, and deepen dialogue and understanding among Islamic countries. Furthermore, Iraq will assume the presidency of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers for one year, boosting its capacity to coordinate shared
stances and support unified Islamic efforts. The spokesperson underscored that the Palestinian cause and developments in the Gaza Strip top Baghdad's agenda, alongside vital political and humanitarian issues facing the Islamic world. He concluded that the summit strives to consolidate
dialogue, solidarity, and multilateral cooperation as vital pillars for achieving peace and sustainable development.
