Iraqi Airways has announced the resumption of its direct flights to the Russian capital, Moscow, following a five-month halt. The company stated that flights will operate from Baghdad to Moscow and vice versa, starting next Tuesday, August 4, 2026. These
flights will continue twice weekly, on Saturdays and Tuesdays, beginning from the specified date. This resumption comes after a halt due to security concerns that the region witnessed since the end of February of the current year with the escalation
of conflict. This step is in response to the increasing demand for direct travel routes between the capitals, Baghdad and Moscow.
