Home Technology WhatsApp Tests Cover Photo Feature for Personal Accounts on Android

WhatsApp has introduced a new feature currently in testing that allows personal accounts on Android devices to set a cover photo, a capability previously exclusive to business accounts. The cover photo appears as a wide horizontal banner at the top

of the profile page and does not replace the regular profile picture. It is also visible at the top of the app's settings section, enabling users to see it whenever they access that area. If a user does not select

a custom cover photo, the app displays a default image automatically. To set a cover photo, users can tap the "Edit" button on their profile page, which offers multiple options including taking a new photo, selecting one from the gallery,

or using Meta's AI technology to generate an image. The app automatically crops the photo to fit the horizontal format and provides full control over who can view the cover photo, with privacy settings including "Everyone," "My Contacts," "My Contacts

Except," and "Nobody." The "Everyone" option is enabled by default. The cover photo is positioned above the profile picture, name, and phone number, and will not appear in the chat info section if privacy settings restrict it. No official release

date has been announced yet for this feature to be available to all Android users.
