The reports issued from medical examinations for drug use, which were conducted on several prominent figures from the arts, sports, and social media sectors, revealed positive indicators within the sample of the well-known actress Afra Saraçoǧlu. The tests related to
the young star, who arrived in the country during the past few days and underwent the necessary tests, showed the presence of residues of the narcotic substance cocaine. In the same context, the analyses recorded positive results concerning former Turkish
football player Hasan Şaş, while test results came back completely negative for both actor Aras Bulut İynemli and sports journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu. It is worth noting that individuals whose tests prove their samples contain traces of narcotic substances face legal
charges related to purchasing, possessing, and consuming illicit drugs, with the prescribed legal penalty reaching imprisonment for a period ranging from two to five years, along with the possibility of tightening penalties and adding further prison terms if the violation
is committed near open public spaces, educational and sports institutions, hospitals, and places of worship. On the other hand, the Public Prosecutor possesses the legal authority to postpone the initiation of public lawsuits against suspects of consumption, provided the concerned
person commits to engaging in approved treatment and rehabilitation programs for a full year, with the defendant's criminal record being permanently wiped out if they successfully complete the program's conditions. The security authorities had carried out extensive anti-drug campaigns starting
from last October, targeting a wide segment of famous figures, and these operations resulted in documenting cases of consumption by a group of media professionals, artists, and social media stars. It is noteworthy that a previous security campaign targeting about
twenty-five stars had shown the presence of traces of narcotic substances at varying levels within the samples of some names, including famous actor Onur Tuna and singer Mabel Matiz, at a time when decisions were issued acquitting others, most notably
actress Serenay Sarıkaya.
