The Ministry of Electricity has prepared an ambitious strategic plan aimed at adding 20,000 megawatts (MW) to the national grid to enhance its capabilities. The Spokesperson for the Ministry, Ahmed Turki Jiad, stated that these directives are part of continuous

efforts to end chronic energy crises and bring about a qualitative and radical transformation in the country's energy sector structure. This transformation aims to achieve a positive and tangible impact on operating hours and supply stability. Jiad clarified that these new

capacities will be equally distributed, with 10,000 MW coming from renewable and solar energy projects, reflecting the country's direction towards clean energy and reducing emissions. The other 10,000 MW will be generated through the establishment and development of high-efficiency steam

power plants. The outlined objectives are not limited to generation alone but extend to improving the efficiency and stability of production, transmission, and distribution sectors in power stations across various regions, from north to south and center, aiming for complete

integration within the national network. In the regional context related to increasing the grid's flexibility, Jiad affirmed that a specialized technical team within the Ministry of Electricity is monitoring the implementation mechanisms for increasing the capacity of electrical interconnections with neighboring

countries. This is to ensure energy exchange and effectively manage peak loads during summer and winter, thereby contributing to stable supply. On the operational front, Jiad reported that the Ministry has initiated comprehensive and intensive maintenance campaigns for stations requiring prior

preparation and rehabilitation. These campaigns aim to ensure their full readiness before peak seasons. In a related development, Maysan Governorate saw the completion of a new temporary secondary substation of the "E-House" model, which has been officially put into experimental

operation, paving the way for its inauguration and permanent service entry soon. The official spokesperson explained that this specialized station will directly address accumulated bottlenecks and balance electrical loads by feeding five vital feeders with power. This will contribute to enhancing

the efficiency of the electrical network in all areas of Maysan Governorate and its adjacent regions. The Spokesperson for the Ministry of Electricity concluded by affirming that these accelerated field measures and major strategic projects will work to reduce the accumulated

pressure on feeders in other regions. These efforts aim to achieve the highest degrees of reliability for the national grid and enhance the stability of electricity supply to citizens in the coming stages, overcoming traditional challenges facing the country's energy

sector through an integrated technical and administrative vision.
