The Reconstruction and Development parliamentary bloc announced on Tuesday the end of its boycott of parliamentary sessions, following the approval of the parliamentary leadership to refer MP Yousif Al-Kalabi to the Ethics and Discipline Committee for legal measures against him.
Bloc head Baha Al-Araji stated in a press release that the decision to return came as a response to the parliament's acceptance of the bloc's demand, following the disrespect directed towards the head of the Reconstruction and Development coalition, Mohammed
Shia Al-Sudani, inside the parliamentary chamber. Previously, the bloc had suspended attendance at sessions, affirming it would not resume participation until actions were taken against those violating parliamentary work principles and political norms. This decision followed the referral of the
case to the Ethics and Discipline Committee, paving the way for the bloc to resume its attendance at parliamentary sessions.
