The Parliamentary Finance Committee confirmed today, Tuesday, that employees' salaries are secured and the budget is linked to government formation, noting that Iraq needs over 7 trillion dinars to secure salaries. Finance Committee member MP Adi Awad stated to the
official agency that "the Central Bank pledged to fund and secure salaries according to the reserve discount law." He added, "When the government is formed, the 2026 budget will be sent," pointing to "borrowing authority to reduce the crisis, especially
with uncertainty regarding the Strait of Hormuz." Awad explained that Iraq needs over 7 trillion dinars for salaries, secured by the Central Bank for six months.
