A Liberia-flagged oil tanker carrying petroleum products was subjected to an assault involving uncrewed surface vessels off the coast of the Black Sea, according to announcements by the Russian Ministry of Transport. In an official statement issued following a meeting
of the response command established for the incident targeting the oil tanker "Aframax Rio" in the Black Sea waters, it was noted that firefighting operations could commence once the intensity of the blaze subsides, rescue vessels are able to approach
safely, and available resources prove adequate to handle the aftermath. The ministry further clarified that the entire crew consisting of twenty-three Indian nationals has been successfully rescued, with preliminary reports indicating no human injuries occurred as a result of the
attack.
