a crowd in St. Peter's Square during Sunday's homily that the matter was detected at an extremely early stage and is completely under control. He continued by saying that recently, during medical examinations, doctors detected a small nodule in his
lung, spotted very early and completely under control. He added that doctors believe it is better to intervene, and following their advice, he decided to undergo surgery to remove it, with the procedure already scheduled for the next few days.
