Two members of parliament have indicated the possibility of extending the legislative term by an additional month. MP Mohammed Abu Al-Eis stated that the draft budget is currently with the Prime Minister for review and verification, expecting it to be
sent to parliament and the financial committee next week. He noted that there is pressure from MPs to proceed with preparing the budget, and they will communicate with the Minister of Finance to learn about the latest developments and inform
the public. Meanwhile, MP Riyad Addai anticipated the budget project to reach parliament in November, with a trend towards extending the legislative term by one month from its original end in early November to December, to allow sufficient time for
discussing the project. He described the budget's arrival before the end of the year as an unprecedented step, estimating its deficit at about 46 trillion dinars. He added that the budget is moving from itemized budgeting to program and performance
budgeting, linking expenditure to programs and implementation instead of relying solely on allocations and paper projects. He mentioned that this approach will be piloted in two ministries and two governorates as a preparation for evaluating the experience.
