Apple Inc. on Wednesday unveiled its latest smartphones: the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max series, during its "Surprise and Shine" conference. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models are available in attractive colors including Deep

Black, Sophisticated Silver, the new Glacier Blue, and a Burgundy hue, described as "a new color characterized by sophistication and distinctiveness." This series is powered by the A20 chip and features the strongest battery in Apple's history. Siri, the personal assistant,

has undergone significant enhancements, now executing actions within various applications, including third-party ones. Siri can also understand personal context across multiple apps such as "Mail" and "Messages." Users can now engage in rich conversations with Siri, vocally or via text, directly

from their iPhone or through the entirely new Siri app on the home screen. Siri is also integrated into the Camera app, enabling users to ask questions and perform tasks like adding multiple events to their calendar at once. Siri features

AI-powered voices, leveraging Apple's most advanced on-device models to generate expressive voices. Users can choose from multiple options and customize speech speed and expression. This new, independent, AI-powered smart application will support, alongside English, several other languages starting October 2026. At

the core of these devices is the A20 Pro chip, described as "exceptional, setting a new standard for mobile computing," with an entirely new architecture based on advanced 2-nanometer technology. The chip incorporates a hexa-core Central Processing Unit (CPU) with two

new high-performance cores (offering up to a 20% speed increase) and four new efficiency cores. These high-performance cores provide "desktop-level performance" and are "the fastest of their kind in any smartphone." The Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) in the iPhone 18

Pro phones features a 7-core design, delivering up to 40% faster graphics performance, increased bandwidth, and new neural accelerators that double 8FP calculations, facilitating direct on-device execution of third-party Large Language Models (LLMs). The Neural Engine has continuously evolved, with a

second unit added, bringing total cores to 32. This makes the A20 Pro chip optimal for running advanced models locally on the device, boasting the widest memory interface ever introduced in an iPhone. For sustained performance, the iPhone 18 Pro includes

an advanced cooling system based on a next-generation vapor chamber. This system handles greater heat, its surface area three times that of the iPhone 17 Pro's chamber. It continuously circulates deionized water, achieving significant improvements in thermal performance. The iPhone 18

Pro's battery life sees a tremendous leap thanks to the A20 Pro chip's efficiency. Despite its smaller size compared to the Pro Max, the iPhone 18 Pro offers comparable battery life. The iPhone 18 Pro Max achieves an unprecedented increase

in battery life, marking the largest improvement in iPhone history. Video playback extends to 36 hours on the iPhone 18 Pro and 45 hours on the iPhone 18 Pro Max. For typical usage, the 18 Pro provides up to 24 hours

of battery life per charge, while the Pro Max offers up to 30 hours. Wired charging speed is enhanced; the phone can charge to 50% in approximately 15 minutes, and a 5-minute wired charge provides power for up to 6

hours of video playback. The iPhone 18 Pro also stands out with its new 48-megapixel "Fusion" main camera, featuring a variable aperture. This capability grants photographers unprecedented creative control, and this camera is classified as the most advanced ever designed by

the company.
