Apple has announced the launch of the new iPad mini, marking one of the most significant updates in the history of this tablet series. The device retains its compact design with a larger screen, featuring a more powerful processing platform,
enhanced cameras, and improved artificial intelligence capabilities. It boasts an 8.5-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with slim bezels, a contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1, support for P3 color gamut, brightness up to 1200 nits, and a special nano-coating to reduce
glare. Powered by the A20 Pro chip built on 2-nanometer technology—the same used in the iPhone 18 Pro series—the CPU performance is reported to be up to 60% faster than the previous generation, while graphics performance has increased by 2.7
times. Each GPU unit now includes a dedicated neural accelerator to speed up AI tasks, enhancing performance in these tasks by up to 4.5 times. The tablet features a 12-megapixel front camera with Center Stage support that keeps users centered
during video calls, and a 12-megapixel rear camera capable of recording 4K video at 60 frames per second. It runs on iPadOS 27, which includes enhanced Apple Intelligence features and an AI-powered Siri voice assistant. The device is compatible with
both the Apple Pencil Pro and Apple Pencil, and some models support eSIM technology for cellular connectivity. Pre-orders for the new iPad mini begin on October 28 across 36 countries, including the United States, with deliveries expected to start on
November 6.
