US Energy Secretary Chris Wright did not rule out that gasoline prices in the United States could drop to the level of 3 dollars per gallon this summer. Wright said in a statement to NBC News on Sunday that "there are gold chances for this to be true. There are no guarantees in war, and the schedule is not yet clear." He continued: "But I believe that this is considered the administration's goal, and this is very possible." Regarding the Iranian response to the recent American proposals for a peaceful settlement, Wright said: "I do not think we have heard a clear response from Iran," noting that negotiations with Iran are progressing slowly. The Secretary did not rule out that a potential interim agreement with Iran might not include all issues related to the Iranian nuclear file, noting that this subject is considered more important for Washington than opening the Strait of Hormuz. It is noteworthy that the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz has resulted in rising energy prices around the world. According to data from the American Automobile Association, the average price of a gallon of gasoline in the United States remains below four dollars in only one of the 50 US states, and the national average price remains at 4.52 dollars per gallon.
