French authorities announced the reinstatement of a night curfew in two central areas of Paris for Saturday and Sunday, aiming to prevent a resurgence of violence and disturbances coinciding with planned protests over the weekend. The Paris police department specified
that the curfew will apply to Place de la République and the area around Châtelet – Les Halles, from 11 PM to 6 AM on the nights of October 31 and November 1, with exceptions for residents, workers, and public
service employees whose presence in these areas is necessary. This decision follows a recent lifting of similar measures, amid security concerns about potential unrest in the French capital linked to upcoming demonstrations.
