Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is set to travel to New York on Tuesday for the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. This participation follows confirmations from official Iranian media regarding his anticipated departure. According to the Iranian News Agency
(IRNA), quoting Habibollah Abbasi, Director General of Public Relations at the Presidential Office, President Pezeshkian will depart for the United States on Tuesday. Pezeshkian's agenda includes delivering a key speech before the General Assembly and holding bilateral meetings and discussions with
several heads of state and participating officials. He is also scheduled to meet with Iranian elites residing in the U.S. and engage with prominent American figures and representatives of research centers. IRNA also reported that the U.S. government declined to grant
entry visas to certain Iranian delegation members, including the media team accompanying President Pezeshkian. Earlier, former U.S. President Donald Trump had stated his openness to meeting Pezeshkian during his U.S. visit. Furthermore, the Élysée Palace indicated arrangements for several meetings between
French President Emmanuel Macron and Middle Eastern leaders, among them the Iranian President. In a related context, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi traveled to Doha on Sunday, ahead of his trip to New York for the UN General Assembly meetings.
