Iraq's National Security Adviser, Qassim Al-Araji, affirmed on Tuesday that Iraq will not permit its territory to be used for aggression against any other state, emphasizing the country's commitment to international laws governing maritime navigation freedom. This statement came during
Al-Araji's reception of the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Baghdad, Daniel Kriber, where both sides discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation across various fields. The meeting focused on developing bilateral partnership, particularly in counter-terrorism and the exchange of
security and intelligence information, in addition to exploring avenues for strengthening friendly relations between the two nations. Al-Araji highlighted the paramount importance of unifying international efforts to eliminate terrorism and extremist ideologies. The adviser clarified that Iraq made significant sacrifices in
its confrontation with the ISIS terrorist organization, fighting on behalf of the world and the international community, and undertook courageous steps, including receiving terrorist prisoners. Al-Araji reiterated Iraq's adherence to its constitution, which prohibits the use of its lands for
aggression against any state, as well as its commitment to international laws concerning maritime navigation freedom and trade. Al-Araji further confirmed that the government of Ali Falih Al-Zaidi supports a policy of openness to all countries worldwide with the aim of
attracting investments and improving the national economy. For his part, the German Ambassador underscored the importance of strengthening bilateral relations and working together to combat terrorism and exchange information, noting Iraq's significant role in achieving regional balance and commending its
efforts in de-escalating tensions and promoting peace in the region.
