The official spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Sabah Al-Nu'man, announced on Saturday an Iraqi-Kuwaiti agreement to combat media disinformation networks. He confirmed both sides agreed on a specialized mechanism to monitor hate speech. Al-Nu'man stated that extensive discussions
by the official Iraqi delegation in Kuwait culminated in a joint strategic agreement. This pact aims to curb fake news production and falsehoods targeting public awareness in both brotherly nations. He clarified that meetings with the Kuwaiti Ministries of Interior and
Defense accurately identified the serious danger of psychological warfare. This manifests in producing and broadcasting misleading content and fabricated reports through which suspicious parties seek to disturb strong fraternal relations. He further indicated that both sides adopted a specialized, direct monitoring
mechanism for the instantaneous handling of any false narratives or provocative and hate speech that emerges. This aims to precisely discern facts and thwart attempts to distort reality. The core objective, Al-Nu'man added, is to foil attempts to manipulate public
opinion with illusory data and establish a joint, credible, professional platform to dry up disinformation sources, safeguarding shared social fabric and enhancing security and moral stability for both countries and their peoples.
