Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani, former Prime Minister and head of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, received an official letter of thanks from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, expressing gratitude for his supportive stance on the Palestinian cause and the struggle of
the Palestinian people. A statement from Al Sudani's office indicated that the letter, dated October 26, 2026, from Ramallah, praised Al Sudani's genuine patriotic positions and his ongoing support for the Palestinians' fight for freedom, independence, and the establishment of
their independent state on their land with Jerusalem as its capital. The Palestinian President also commended Al Sudani's efforts and initiatives condemning the ongoing crimes of the Israeli occupation, confronting policies of forced displacement, settler terrorism, and settlement expansion, stressing
that these practices constitute a blatant violation of international law and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. Abbas expressed appreciation for the campaigns led by Al Sudani in support of Palestine, as well as the stances taken by the
Reconstruction and Development parliamentary bloc in defending Palestinian rights and their cause in political and parliamentary forums. He noted that these campaigns and positions reflect the deep solidarity and historic brotherly ties between the two peoples, serving as a source
of pride and esteem for the Palestinian leadership and people. The Palestinian President concluded by expressing his hope for continued joint cooperation and coordination between the two countries to serve the interests of both peoples and to support efforts aimed
at ending the occupation and achieving a just peace based on international legitimacy resolutions.
