Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi affirmed on Saturday that Palestine represents an authentic identity and an unyielding principled stance that Iraq will never abandon, rather than just a raised slogan. This came as he received Palestinian Minister of Foreign
Affairs and Expatriates Varsen Aghabekian, who conveyed the greetings and appreciation of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas for Iraq’s stance on the Palestinian cause, while extending congratulations on Sovereignty Day. Al-Zaidi emphasized continued backing to achieve a just and comprehensive resolution
that ensures the Palestinian people obtain their full legitimate rights on their historical land. In turn, the Palestinian minister expressed her government’s deep appreciation for Iraq’s efforts in easing the suffering of Gazans, fostering regional and international stability, and mitigating
the consequences of conflicts.
