The Ministry of Justice announced on Wednesday the completion of installing 680 telephone booths at Nasiriyah Central Prison. According to the ministry's statement, this measure is part of ongoing efforts to enhance services provided to inmates and strengthen humanitarian aspects
within correctional facilities. In cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and the General Company for Communications and Informatics in Dhi Qar, 450 new telephone booths were added, bringing the total number to 680 booths designated for inmate communication with their
families. This initiative aims to expand communication services and offer inmates greater opportunities for regular contact with their relatives, contributing to strengthening family bonds and maintaining social connections, as well as providing a correctional environment that respects humanitarian and social
considerations. These measures are part of the Iraqi Reform Department's plan to develop infrastructure and services in correctional institutions, aligning with the ministry's directives to improve the reform environment and enhance the humanitarian care requirements for inmates.
