Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that the nature of warfare has transformed, no longer limited to tanks and traditional machinery, but extending to software systems. He made these remarks during his speech at the "National Security Conferences Inauguration" in
Ankara, explaining that the concept of security in the current era now includes attacks targeting vital infrastructure such as energy lines and ports, alongside cyber threats aimed at banks and institutions, and disinformation campaigns targeting societies. Erdoğan emphasized the paramount importance
of data security and cybersecurity, asserting that any nation unable to control its cyber infrastructure becomes vulnerable to its adversaries. He also noted that artificial intelligence, despite its great importance, carries significant risks, particularly concerning disinformation campaigns that threaten societal
psychology and democracy. He advocated for the ethical and legal use of AI, considering it a necessity rather than a luxury. The Turkish President concluded his address by highlighting the blurring of traditional frontlines and rear areas, noting that wars in
the region have undergone a major transformation, increasingly relying on drones, artificial intelligence, and modern remotely controlled technologies.
