The BRICS summit in New Delhi witnessed a high-level meeting today, Saturday, between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed Al Nahyan. The encounter comes amid a decline in bilateral relations, attributed to escalating security tensions
in the Gulf and mutual accusations regarding attacks targeting Emirati territories and regional interests. This tension also had an economic impact, with Abu Dhabi implementing measures to restrict commercial and financial dealings with Tehran. Nevertheless, the UAE consistently emphasizes the importance
of diplomatic solutions and dialogue, stressing the necessity of respecting its sovereignty, security, and freedom of navigation in the Gulf and Strait of Hormuz.
