The parliamentary Economic, Industry, and Trade Committee has outlined urgent measures aimed at revitalizing national industry in the upcoming phase. Committee member Safaa Al-Jabri stated that the government program has allocated a major axis for developing local industry, based on
the comprehensive development plan approved for the period from 2024 to 2028. He clarified that the government is obligated before the legislative authority to take swift steps to activate the national industrial sector, pointing out that the committee will monitor
the Ministry of Industry's work and review the plan to be presented by the minister within the government program, which must include defining priorities and desired objectives. Al-Jabri mentioned that the committee will establish current performance indicators to match them
with the vision and set goals, comparing them on a quarterly basis, indicating that it will request necessary reports from the ministry every four months. Al-Jabri affirmed that those falling short will be held accountable in case of delay or
deviation from the plan, while simultaneously working to empower the ministry by providing the necessary laws and legislations to support the national plan.
