The Indian Oil Corporation confirmed that the fuel shortage witnessed in India is limited to some distribution stations only, and that it is temporary in nature.
Bloomberg News reported that the company, (the largest state-owned refining company in the country), attributed the reason to a temporary disruption in supplies, and the redistribution of sales patterns in some areas. It also pointed to a seasonal increase in demand for diesel during the current harvesting season.
The statement added that some consumers shifted temporarily away from some private distribution stations, due to the relative rise in prices at some of those private stations compared to the company's governmental stations.
