Digital platforms continue to engage widely with the story of Syrian youth Abdullah Hammoud Al-Naif, from the village of Zghair Jazeerah in the Deir ez-Zor countryside, after he began a long journey on foot toward Mecca to perform the pilgrimage

rituals. According to Al-Naif, this endeavor started in response to a recurring dream three times in which he saw Prophet Muhammad asking him to walk to Mecca and complete the Quran there two hundred times. Following this, Al-Naif left the

Deir ez-Zor countryside, crossing several Syrian governorates until reaching Deraa and then the Nassib border crossing with Jordan. There, he encountered a technical obstacle related to border procedures that prevent crossing on foot, while he rejected an offer to be

transported via a vehicle, adhering strictly to the vision and insisting on executing it precisely. In a subsequent development, Sheikh Mahmoud Al-Sherif announced in a post on his personal Facebook account that he was the reason behind preventing the Syrian

youth from continuing his journey on foot from Deir ez-Zor to Mecca. Al-Sherif expressed gratitude to the General Secretariat of the Grand Mufti in Saudi Arabia for what he described as a rapid response to prevent the entry of innovations

and seditions, pointing out that coordination took place between authorities in Saudi Arabia and Jordan to prevent what he considered the spread of sedition and to return Abdullah Hammoud Al-Naif to Syria. Al-Sherif's statements sparked significant interaction on social media,

dividing opinions between supporters who view the matter as an innovation and misguidance, and opponents who assume the man's honesty, good intentions, and commitment to what his heart inspired based on the vision he experienced in his sleep. To this

moment, Al-Naif remains stationed near the Jordanian border, waiting for the path toward the holy lands to be opened before him.
