The Ministry of Transport announced today, Friday, that Iraqi airspace remains open for flight operations with no restrictions, bans, or mandatory route changes for aircraft crossing the skies. The ministry's official spokesperson, Ali Al-Khalidi, stated in an official release that
the Civil Aviation Authority denied reports about the issuance of a NOTAM imposing temporary restrictions or mandatory routes on all transiting aircraft. Al-Khalidi confirmed that all air routes are fully available for flight movement. Additionally, the Security Media Cell denied
any closure of Iraqi airspace due to security developments, clarifying that the only measure taken was the allocation of a limited airspace area for training purposes during the annual firing exercise, based on the request of the Air Defense Command
and in coordination with relevant aviation navigation authorities, without imposing any general restrictions on flight operations. The spokesperson urged media outlets and social media users to verify information carefully and rely on official sources when disseminating news related to air
navigation.
