prices immediately! They are far too high given the current oil price of $68 per barrel, which is heading for further decline." He warned retailers against any price gouging, describing it as "absolutely illegal," and stressed they would face "big
problems" if they did not respond by "lowering prices for our great American people." Trump suggested targeting a price of approximately $2.50 per gallon. He also criticized the state of California, calling on it to "stop imposing these exorbitant taxes on
gasoline." He explained that "the tax could soon be higher than the value of the product itself," considering this exploitation of the people of California by their own government. He called for a reduction in these taxes, which he described
as a heavy burden on consumers.
