The Ministry of Information in Congo announced that the number of probable deaths from the Ebola virus in the country has exceeded 200 people, while the number of confirmed deaths reached 10 cases.
The ministry's statement on the X platform read: "Main epidemiological indicators... Confirmed deaths: ten, probable deaths (due to Ebola): 204."
According to the ministry, 91 cases of infection have been confirmed (84 cases in Ituri province, six cases in North Kivu, and one case in South Kivu), while the number of suspected infection cases stands at 867.
The World Health Organization had previously announced that the Ebola outbreak caused by the Bundibugyo virus in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda constitutes a public health emergency of international concern.
