Nouri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law Coalition, held a meeting today, Saturday, at his office in Baghdad with Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi. Discussions centered on reviewing current political and security developments, alongside exploring effective ways to consolidate national
stability. A statement from al-Maliki's media office indicated the meeting addressed Iraq's latest political and security developments and major challenges facing the political process. Talks also covered bolstering stability and protecting supreme national interests. During their discussions, both sides emphasized the importance
of concerted political efforts to establish stability and unify national stances on present issues and challenges. They further stressed improving state institutions' performance to ensure effective service delivery and meet citizens' aspirations. In a related context, the meeting urged swift completion
of the ministerial cabinet to finalize government formation and enable institutions to perform duties efficiently. This strengthens the government's capacity to handle political, security, and economic files based on consensus, partnership, and national responsibility. Al-Maliki, for his part, stressed prioritizing national
interest and providing essential political support for the government. He underscored the importance of cooperation and coordination among political forces to preserve Iraq's security and stability, thereby advancing the political process.
