Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi affirmed on Sunday Iraq's keenness to develop bilateral relations with Lebanon and support fruitful economic partnerships. This came during his co-chairmanship of official talks between the two countries in the capital, Baghdad, with Lebanese Prime
Minister Nawaf Salam and several ministers from both sides participating. The discussions explored ways to consolidate bilateral ties in various economic, political, and security fields, in addition to reviewing prospects for partnership development to enhance comprehensive and sustainable development and
achieve the interests of the two brotherly peoples. Al-Zaidi emphasized the importance of deepening the relationship between Iraq and Lebanon and entering into effective economic partnerships across multiple developmental sectors. He also stressed the importance of joint coordination between the
two countries to confront regional challenges, supporting bilateral efforts aimed at reinforcing stability, de-escalating tensions, and halting conflicts in the region.
