The Cabinet held its regular session on Tuesday evening, chaired by Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaydi, during which it approved allowing final-year students to take third-round exams upon payment of 25,000 dinars per subject. The session addressed the general situation
in the country and approved including sixth-grade primary students who failed the second round, as well as third intermediate and sixth preparatory students of all branches who failed the second round, including external students and evening schools. The collected fees
will be allocated to the General Directorate of Evaluation and Examinations to cover exam expenses. The Cabinet also approved an amendment related to tax settlement, assigning the Ministry of Finance to waive 100% of additional amounts and late penalties for
private universities, colleges, and institutes if the principal tax is paid within six months, and waive 50% if paid within the following six months. The decision included modifying procedures for importing engine oils to facilitate the implementation of the law
on importing and selling petroleum products, allowing importation with the Ministry of Oil's approval without the need for import licenses. Additionally, the Cabinet decided to add the activity of distributing petroleum products to the tasks of the General Company for
Gas Filling and Services to increase distribution outlets during crises and religious occasions. In environmental regulation, the Cabinet approved the removal of a waste compactor and encroachment on land belonging to the Ministry of Health in Karkh, Baghdad, due to
the absence of required environmental approvals. On the international front, the Cabinet approved a draft law for Iraq's accession to the ASEAN Treaty of Amity and Cooperation and referred it to the Parliament for legislation according to the constitution.
