Egyptian director Ramy Imam has addressed the status of a potential artistic project chronicling the biography of his legendary father, Adel Imam, explaining that the concept remains in the stage of gathering information and preparation, with no official decision made
yet regarding its execution. Speaking on the sidelines of the El Gouna Film Festival opening ceremony on Saturday evening, Ramy noted that producing a documentary about his father's life is a possibility, though it still requires extensive preparation and meticulous
collection of details concerning the leader's life and artistic journey. He added that such a large-scale project cannot be accomplished overnight, requiring significant time and multiple phases of research to cover both personal and professional aspects of a career spanning
decades that left an indelible mark on cinema, theater, and television. Furthermore, the director did not disclose any specific timeframe for initiating the project or its final format, emphasizing that the idea has not yet reached the official decision phase
amidst ongoing thoughts on how to present it. In a different context, Ramy Imam commented on the fabricated image of his father recently circulated on social media as his latest appearance, which later proved to be generated by artificial intelligence.
He stated that the current technological leap resembles the internet with its positive and negative uses, noting that the family has already grown accustomed to such matters. It is worth recalling that Adel Imam's last public appearance dates back to
July of last year during the wedding of his grandson, also named Adel, the son of director Ramy Imam, where he appeared in a family photograph surrounded by the newlyweds and other family members. Meanwhile, the recently circulated fake image
actually depicted Indian screenwriter Salim Khan, father of actor Salman Khan, attending a family event in Mumbai before digital alterations made his features resemble the Egyptian artist, sparking widespread debate among followers.
