Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein held a phone call today, Friday, with his Omani counterpart, Sayyid Badr Al-Busaidi, to discuss developments in Iran-Oman talks and regional de-escalation efforts. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated the ministers reviewed regional developments and outcomes of
discussions between Omani and Iranian delegations in Tehran. Minister Hussein heard an explanation of the talks' results, particularly understandings concerning the Strait of Hormuz. The two sides also discussed outstanding US-Iran issues, addressing proposed American sanctions that could restrict economic and
financial dealings with Tehran, and their potential implications for regional stability. Both ministers emphasized the importance of urgent meetings for concerned states to explore ways of dealing with serious developments and limiting their repercussions. They stressed the necessity of continued Baghdad-Muscat
cooperation and coordination, initiating joint proposals, and inviting other countries to participate. The call concluded with an agreement to continue communication and coordination to crystallize shared ideas and plans, supporting efforts to contain tension and enhance regional stability.
