The Federal Integrity Commission announced on Sunday the arrest of an official from the Baghdad Electricity Distribution Company, following his involvement in the embezzlement of electrical materials valued at approximately 4.5 billion Iraqi Dinars. The Commission clarified that a specialized audit
and investigation team commenced its work at the Ministry of Electricity. The auditing operations revealed that the warehouse manager of the Rusafa Distribution Branch had seized large quantities of cables, with a total value of 4,406,000,000 Dinars. Investigations indicated that the
accused carried out this embezzlement in cooperation with two individuals who own vehicles. The operation was conducted based on a judicial warrant issued by the judge of the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court, in accordance with the provisions of Article 315
of the Penal Code. An official arrest report was prepared, and the suspect was presented to the competent investigating judge, who ordered his detention pending the completion of investigations.
