Iran's Atomic Energy Organization announced Sunday that the United States launched an attack on a site being prepared for a nuclear power plant in the country's southwest. The organization stated in a communiqué that "the U.S. aggression against the Darkhovin nuclear
plant, still under construction, is an attack on a peaceful atomic facility. Darkhovin is subject to safeguards agreements, and aggression against it is a blatant crime under international law." The organization added that "the Darkhovin facility symbolizes Iran's efficiency, self-reliance, and
progress. This attack will increase the determination of Iranian nuclear industry experts to continue the path of progress."
