Mohsen Zanganeh, a member of the Planning and Budget Committee in the Iranian Parliament, announced that his country collects sums ranging between one and a half and two million dollars from each vessel transiting the Strait of Hormuz. In connection
with the implementation of a plan to collect service fees from ships passing through the strait, media reports indicate conflicting expert opinions regarding smart control mechanisms for the Strait of Hormuz. A task force has been formed to implement this
plan in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and under the supervision of the Supreme National Security Council. These collected amounts are deposited into the state's public treasury in accordance with the law, and then disbursed later for specific expenditures.
