The official spokesman for the Iraqi government, Haider al-Aboudi, affirmed on Tuesday that Baghdad has developed a comprehensive executive roadmap aimed at supplying the European continent with crude oil. Al-Aboudi indicated that this step is part of a strategic drive
towards exploring alternative export corridors, via both Turkey and Syria, explaining that the ambitious government vision aims to raise oil production to approximately 10 million barrels per day or more by 2030. In statements reported by the official agency, Al-Aboudi clarified
that the Prime Minister's European tour, which began in Paris and continued in the German capital Berlin, was founded from its inception on economic, political, security, and investment pillars. It relied on the deep historical relations between Iraq and European
countries and their role in enhancing mutual understanding and elevating it to advanced levels of cooperation. He further elaborated that these fruitful ties were embodied in the signing of bilateral memoranda of understanding covering vital sectors such as energy and
security, with a particular focus on the technological aspect related to air defense systems. Al-Aboudi noted that the energy portfolio garnered significant attention during the Berlin leg of the tour, where the Prime Minister held a direct meeting at the German
House of Business (German Chamber of Commerce and Industry). The meeting was attended by more than 50 businessmen and representatives of German companies, during which the Prime Minister extended a crucial investment invitation aimed at consolidating commercial and investment partnership
with German companies within the Iraqi economic climate, and stimulating economic growth in a manner that serves the country's higher interests. Regarding the prospects of supplying the European continent with Iraqi energy, Al-Aboudi explained that the project for supplying Iraqi crude
oil to Europe is seriously on the table. A detailed executive roadmap has been developed for it by the Iraqi government and the Ministry of Oil specifically, under the direct supervision and guidance of the Prime Minister. He stated that
the ultimate goal of this initiative is to free the Iraqi economy from dependence on current regional circumstances and the challenges associated with the Strait of Hormuz. He affirmed that Iraq is moving towards activating alternative export corridors, including routes
through Turkish territory to supply European markets, and other potential routes through Syria. Al-Aboudi stressed that this direction aims to maximize oil production levels, as part of the Iraqi government's strategic vision, which has crystallized a roadmap aiming to achieve crude
oil production of approximately or exceeding 10 million barrels per day by 2030. He clarified that the direction of Iraqi oil exports to global markets is dynamic and responsive to market indicators, as Iraq currently supplies markets in East Asia
and Europe. Al-Aboudi then moved on to discuss political moves aimed at de-escalating tensions in the region, affirming that Iraq and its government are committed to openness to all diplomatic solutions. He pointed out that the government adopted, from the very
beginning, the principle of Iraq not being a party to conflict or unilateral alignment, preferring openness to the international community to find solutions that ensure energy supplies and contribute to pushing the region towards greater stability. Al-Aboudi concluded his statements by
addressing the issue of Iraqi communities in Europe, indicating that the government pays special attention to monitoring the numbers of these communities through its diplomatic missions and works to meet their needs. At the same time, Baghdad seeks to invest
and utilize the talents and competencies of Iraqis residing in Europe, so that this benefits the community members and the Iraqi state as a whole.
